Clackamas Nursing Assistant Training opened in 2007 under
the name Quick! Nursing Assistant Training. It operated
continuously until the fall of 2014 when the founder, Lyn
Chase, closed the business to work for another company in
the identical capacity. She discovered that she missed
owning and running her own program and decided to reopen
after an eight month hiatus. Lyn remains the sole employee
of Clackamas Nursing Assistant Training.
Lyn graduated from nursing school in 1974 at the age of
three (just kidding). She holds a Bachelor of Science degree
with a major in nursing and a minor in Social Science from
the University of Oregon School of Nursing, now known as
OHSU. She has worked in several facets of the nursing
profession including home health, assisted living, long term
care and, early in her career, floor nursing in two
hospitals and a stint as a nurse for a physician in a
clinic. She has taught the Nursing Assistant level one
curriculum over ninety (yes, you read that right) times. She
has taught for Cascade Medical School, Prestige Health Care,
Pacific Health Care Training and Holgate Community Nursing
Assistant Training, but as of 2022 seventy seven of those
classes were for her own company.
Lyn believes that people learn better when they feel
relaxed. She works to create an environment where
discussion—rather than lecture—takes place, and a cup of
coffee or hot chocolate is always available and allowed at
any time.
